St Peter Port area – GDA remit

In St Peter Port, the agency has been assigned the area between La Valette Aquarium and Salerie Corner.

All the developments will be in line with the Island Development Plan which identifies the St Peter Port and St Sampson Harbour Action Areas as areas having significant potential for:

• inward investment and commercial development and expansion
• development and support of the visitor economy, leisure, recreation and cultural opportunities;
• the improvement of the appearance and accessibility of public spaces; and
• the enhancement and reinforcement of the historic setting of the harbours.

At this time, the GDA has decided to initially concentrate on St Sampsons area, where it believes there are significant social, economic and environmental gains that can be realised through a strategic approach made possible by the structure of the GDA.
